MP Tokheho questions NPCC’s selective scrutiny

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 23 (MExN): Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi on Tuesday questioned the selective scrutiny of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) over his statement for revocation of 371 (A), asking whether it subscribe to the views of the NSCN (IM) that made similar statements on different occasions.  In rejoinder, Yepthomi alleged that the NSCN (IM) on May 26, 2023 stated that Article 371(A) no longer had any political significance. Prior to this they had also stated on October 10, 2023 that Article 371(A) was a road block to the Naga Political solution and that it only meant loss of Naga’s nationality and political identity, the MP said. Raising questions about the Congress party’s consistency in its stance, Yepthomi alleged that the NPCC was silent on both statements made by the NSCN (IM) on Article 371(A) yet questioned his recent statement and clarification. He, therefore, questioned whether “NPCC subscribe to the NSCN (IM)’s view about Article 371 (A).”
