Kohima, July 4 (MExN): All Blacks suffered another defeat today losing to ninth placed Mustang FC 1-4 in the ongoing Morning Premier League played here at the D Khel Ground. Once runaway leaders, a crushing 1-9 loss to MRH Sunrisers last week had effectively ended any hopes of All Blacks chasing leaders Power Comm and Medical XI but today’s defeat will be acutely felt as they ended their season on a sour note. All Blacks had started off the league impressively registering a 9-game unbeaten run – with 8 wins and one draw – at the halfway stage and were comfortably placed to claim the very first league title. However, since then, the All Blacks have only managed 2 wins – losing five times and drawing twice. The last game of the season, however, started in positively for the Blacks as they managed to strike early through Azo in the 8th minute but poor form continued to plague the team as Mustang FC decidedly outplayed them after the initial breakthrough. Scoring an equalizer through Imli in the 17th minute, Mustang FC ended the first half leading 2-1 with Sumi finding the net again in the 18th minute. When the match resumes after interval, quick successive goals each from Jungshi and Sangkho in the 56th and 58th minutes sealed the fate for the Blacks. With today’s win, Mustang FC will end the season at 9th position with 11 points while All Blacks current 4th position hangs in the balance depending on the performance of Merhulietsa FC in their last game of the season.
