Kohima, February 7 (MExN): Day 3 of the Morning Premier League witnessed a 7-goal thriller as Morning FC came from behind to edge Morung United. Three early goals in a space of 5 minutes brought alive a drowsy Wednesday morning at the Seikhazou Ground in Kohima as the two teams played out an action-packed 90 minutes. Morung United took the lead through Lipok in the 14th minute before Rongsen leveled for MFC three minutes later. It took another two minutes for the next goal as Burakum restored the one goal lead for Morung. And it seemed like the first half would end with a goal advantage for Morung United but just at the stroke of half time, Akhrielie found the back of the net to level again for MFC. The second half started in much the same way as the first and it only took a minute from the restart for Atsapa to score as Morung were back in the lead – Lipok, who had scored earlier, with the assist. MFC however remained resolute and their resilience paid off when Dikwa managed to score from Akhrielie’s pass in the 62nd minute. Dikwa would also go on to register his name in the assist list when he found Vizo in the 73rd minute – the latter making no mistake in slotting the ball home to give MFC a hard fought victory. Earlier on Tuesday, a hat-trick from Asu helped MRH FC thump Mustang FC 5-1. Isak and Imti were the other goal scorers for MRH while Mar netted the solitary goal for the Mustangs.
