The Drama I of Covid-19 which broke out in Wuhan City of Hubei Province of China in mid-December 2019, had left us with lots of tragedies and miserable stories. In the midst of resettling the Drama 1 of Covid-19, the Drama II broke out again in mid march 2021 and rose rapidly in April 2021 and left us in chaos and panic.
In this Drama, Mr Corona seemed to be merciless and had tortured the life of many people, spared none including the infants, the children, the adult, the old and the aged. Mr Corona’s Drama had become nightmare for the homeless and blinded the sight of many poor people. The fear of this cruel sickness had paralysed many healthy and strong youth and left them aimless and handicapped. The virus of Mr. Corona seemed to be deaf to the cries of the people and left them in fear and turmoil. The good news that we longed for once upon a time, has now brought fear within us because we are shaken by misfortune and frightful news that comes to us from all over especially of our country.
The cases and death rates are rapidly increasing and the lives of many people are lost. Thousands are getting infected and hundreds are dying every day. The dark clouds of Covid-19 continue to loom over every corner of the globe. The view looks widely affected the different aspects of social life such as education, economy, and personal life and so on.
In the educational aspects, over 1.5 million schools across India were closed down due to the pandemic affecting 286 million children from pre-primary to secondary levels. This adds to the 6 million girls and boys who were already out of school prior to Covid-19 as said by Kaushik Deka. In the economic sphere we see that, about 10 million people have lost jobs since the beginning of the Pandemic. India’s GDP shrank to 7.3% in 2020-2021. This was the worst performance of the Indian economy in any year since independence as per Hindustan Times. Likewise, various other spheres of social life have been affected due to Covid-19 which has left the people helpless and hopeless.
Looking back now, the world seems to be silent and the leaders of our country look quite over confident with the Drama 1 and failed to care the life of the poor, the marginalised and the less fortunate. Who can save us? Or where can we go? Or what is the solution? Our purpose is not to blame the governments but we need to rise to the situation as a nation together in order to face the challenge.
As the Drama III of Mr Corona is sweeps across the country, it is an urgent task that we need to fight it on war-footing manner and do everything needed in order to save the lives of the nation who rely on our help and service.
