Mr. & Miss. Peace Channel award was conferred to Yomakumba Longkumer Ao from J.N. Aier College and Vebezenuo Angami from St. Paul Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur respectively, during the North East Youth and Peace Festival 2011 held at Little Flower Hr. Sec. School Kohima.
Explaining in the objectives of the Mr. and Ms. Peace Channel hunt Rev. Fr. CP Anto, Director, Peace Channel said that to value the tradition and to protect, preserve and promote the local culture. The context consisted of three rounds. The first round the contestants were requested to wear the traditional attire, and they were asked the questions based on the meaning of the costume and the second and third round consisted of questions based on peace and general knowledge.
The festival was held with view to bring the youth from various cultures, communities, tribes and religions to live together harmoniously and to share, discuss and learn to live together. He also thanked and encouraged all the sixteen contestants who participated in the competition from the state.
