MR Vaccination Campaign for Private Practitioners held

Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): A sensitization meeting on Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign for Private Practitioners under Dimapur district was held at Hotel Cedar on August 25.  

Dr Rebecca, DPO, RCH-UIP highlighted the basic strategies and operational plans for the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign.  

In a press release, the DPO stated that regardless of the previous immunization status of measles or rubella vaccine or whether the children have got measles or rubella, the children aged between nine months to 15 years are eligible for MR vaccination during the campaign. The dose given during the mass campaign is a supplementary dose, she added. The MR Vaccine used in the campaign is a safe and effective vaccine for the elimination of measles and control of rubella.  

Dr Sheila, SMO, WHO updated the trainees on the Measles-Rubella scenario in the country. The training aimed at preparing the private practitioners on MRVC and to ensure that the same message regarding MRVC is disseminated to their clients, it was observed.  

Earlier, Dr K Vikato Kinimi, CMO chaired the programme and welcomed the participants. The participants were representatives from 32 Assam Rifles, 165 Military, AR Composite, Shokhuvi, Railway Hospital, CIHSR, Police Referral Hospital, Chumukedima, IAP, IMA, and Dimapur Children’s Clinic.  

Other officials members present during the program include Dr Antoly, DCMO, and Staff under CMO Dimapur.
