Morung Express News Kohima | May 3 The Merangkong Senso Telonjem (MST), Kohima celebrated the Moatsü Mong on May 3 at Highland Park, near IG Stadium with Amenba Yaden, Parliamentary Secretary, Industries and Commerce as the Chief Host. Dr. Moanungsang, President, MST Kohima in his speech stated that the times of the forefathers, Moatsü the premier festival of the Aos was celebrated with the intention of asking for the blessings of the gods in the fields that had just been sown. But with the advent of Christianity, all celebration associated with the olden ways were considered evil which, he asserted, is the reason why a lot of young people today knows very little about our traditions and customs. “But as we begin to open our eyes, we now realize that our cultures and traditions define us and that they are not necessarily evil. We have begun to realize that we still need to ask the Living God for his blessings on all our works. Let us celebrate by asking Jesus Christ for his blessing,” asserted Dr. Moanungsang.
