MTBA youth department presents drama night

The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA) Youth Department is all set to present the play titled “Ojangsang” on September 25 evening at 6:00 pm.

A one-hour drama based on the social milieu of the Naga society and the issues faced by youths today is directed by Imkongonen Lemtur, alumni of National School of Drama and former President of MTBA Youth Department.

A first of its kind project, the drama night is set with the objective of giving talents of MTBA Youth Department an opportunity to showcase their talent in acting.

Theatre, an unfamiliar terrain in the town, “Ojangsang” aims to open a space for the youth, an opportunity to pool in their talents in setting up a proper theatre right from acting to script writing, make-up, costume, lighting, photography and videography.

MTBA, Youth Evangelist, Monglier said that dramas are performed many a times at devotional services and other talent shows but this is the first time that the MTBA Youth Department is exploring the territory in a big scale which will give the town people a theatre experience at the same time a platform for the youths to contribute their God given talents in making the show a success.

The cast and the production team has been working tirelessly since the past one month to give an impeccable performance and reach out to the audience to let them linger in their minds with thought provoking issues. They are also in admiration and appreciation of the Pastors and the Deacon Board for supporting them in every way possible which they believe will help them pave the way for brighter prospects in the days to come.

The Organising Committee in their interaction with the media have requested the town people to come and witness the play “Ojangsang” and journey along as the cast members take you through the ups and downs of the story with their acting prowess.
