MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 12 (MExN): The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has written to the Power Department demanding uninterrupted power supply to Mokokchung Town.
In a letter to the Executive Engineer (Transmission), Mokokchung Division, the MTLT said that the citizens of Mokokchung town are facing immense hardships due to the frequent load shedding during the past few months. The MTLT while appreciating the Power Department for replacing the low-tension wires with high-tension electric lines in the town, said that the people tolerated the frequent power-cuts which was necessitated because of the developmental works.
“However, the people of Mokokchung town are still facing irregular power-cuts till today which have been greatly hampering the daily lives and activities of the common people,” the MTLT said.
It said that regular power supply is an essential necessity of the people and the people of Mokokchung town have been diligently paying the power bills every month without fail. “Thus, supply of uninterrupted power is not only a duty for the power department but also a legitimate demand of the people,” the MTLT stated.
It therefore demanded immediate remedial actions to supply uninterrupted power supply in Mokokchung town.
