Mokokchung, May 26 (MExN): Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) on Monday extended full support to Ao Students Conference (AKM) over its demands regarding the ongoing construction of new blocks at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), citing concerns over sub-standard work.
In a statement, MTLT said it “strongly endorses” AKM’s findings following an inspection of the hospital site on May 21 and echoed the student body’s call for immediate corrective action by the concerned authorities and contractor.
MTLT appreciated the concern of the AKM and for undertaking an on-spot inspection, it stated, pointing to what it described as “visible sub-standard works” at the hospital construction site.
The organisation specifically urged KC Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd., the construction firm handling the work, to rectify the issues without delay. It also pressed the State government to prioritise the long-overdue completion of the hospital project.
Calling IMDH the “first referral point” for patients in Mokokchung, the MTLT said the hospital remains the only hope for many seeking treatment and asserted that the concerns raised by the AKM reflect the genuine grievances of the public.
“The MTLT is ever ready to stand with the AKM and render our wholehearted support to any course of action they take with regard to the IMDH issue,” it added.
