Kohima, May 19 (MExN): Mao Union Kohima (MUK) and Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK) honoured successful students of the HSLC/HSSLC Examination 2016 on May 15 at MITE auditorium in Kohima.
During the event, the Ashikho Daili Trust Award for Academic Excellence (ADTAFAE) was conferred to Mochoyia Krüchena of Mezhür Higher Secondary School Kohima, who secured 13th position in the Top 20 rankings of the HSLC Examinations 2016 under NBSE. The award carry a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- and a citation.
A. Daili, who is the founder member of the Trust, in his speech asked the students to “acknowledge God, parents and teachers”. Besides the Trust award, all the successful students were also felicitated by MUK and MSUK with presentations, a press release informed.
In his welcome address, L Athikho Lirite, President (MUK) stated that students should have determination to become the best. Apele, Convenor (ADTAFAE) presented a brief history of the formation of the Trust.
Athikho Chalai, A.G (A&E) Nagaland exhorted the students to be hardworking and never let failure be an obstacle but accept it as a fact of life. Sülounü, President, Poumai Naga Union Kohima also addressed the gathering.
In an interview with S. Amos Shuli, Mochoyia Krüchena revealed that she had studied 12 hours a day, the release issued by D. Neli Koso, General Secretary, Mao Union Kohima said.
