
Longleng, August 30 (MExN): A Multi-Skill Development Production Unit, designed to enhance outsourcing and marketing value, was officially launched in Longleng under the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS, who served as the special guest. The unit is being implemented by the Kivong-Kivheli Foundation at the Multi Skill Development Centre.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom congratulated the foundation for its initiative and highlighted the importance of skill development for societal progress.
He emphasized the need for exploring alternative measures and better avenues to reach the full potential of any initiative. Phom also encouraged the trainees and beneficiaries to consider the relevance of their skills within the broader ecosystem and stressed the importance of increasing the number of sales units while reducing prices.
Chairperson of the Kivong-Kivheli Foundation, P. Angbhenla Phom, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and the Executive Secretary for their contributions to the success of the program. She informed the gathering that the project was sanctioned under the Chief Minister's initiative through the Department of Planning & Transformation.
The unit will be implemented under the guidance and supervision of the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Phom also introduced the program's mapping details, which will be activated zone-wise in the district, and explained the outsourcing and market linkage shop concept that will be further developed.
The program was chaired by KKF Secretary Alemla Phom and was attended by civil society members from the district, special invitees, trainers, and trainees.
