
Mangkolemba, March 14 (MExN): In commemoration of the golden jubilee of Nagaland Statehood, the District Health Society, Mokokchung, Health Centre Management Committee, Mangkolemba and the Community Health Centre, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Mangkolemba in partnership with the Women Department of Mangkolemba Baptist Church organized two-day multi-specialty health camp at Mangkolemba.
A team of 15 doctors from IMDH, Mokokchung and the CMO Establishment, Mokokchung, offered their expertise to the people of Mangkolemba and the surrounding villages.
Make shift OPDs were setup within the church premises where services like Orthopaedic, Obs and Gynae, Dental, Ophthalmology and General Medicine were provided. Camp site laboratories under RNTCP, NVBDCP and NSACS with ICTC were also set up to offer prompt diagnostic facility to the patients.
The first day saw a total of 315 patients from every age groups flocking to get the much desired specialist health care attention. “More patients, even from the surrounding villages, are expected tomorrow,” said Dr. Akum, SMO, Mangkolemba in a press release.
In the morning, a short inaugural programme was held in the church conference hall where Amongla Jamir, Associate Pastor (Women) of MBC welcomed all the doctors and the medical staff and extended appreciation to the CMO and his staff for their selfless services towards the people of Mangkolemba. Dr. Akaba, CMO, Mokokchung declared open the Multi Specialty Health Camp. Mar Longkumer, Associate Pastor, MBC said the invocation and Dr. Akok Amer, Pastor, MBC proposed the dedicatory and benediction. The health camp will be held on March 14 and 15.
