Multiple Taxations: NCD urge Naga pol groups to ‘control their cadres’

Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) on Saturday stated that “as long as Naga political problem remains unresolved, multiple taxations by Naga political groups, and multiple money demands/extortions by individuals or impersonators will perpetuate in Dimapur business communities/establishments.”

NCD President, Etsungmomo Kikon and General Secretary, LK Peter Anal in a press release reiterated its appeal to all Naga political groups “to control their cadres from easy getting money through extortion or in any form of money collections, charitable donations from businessmen or business establishments in Dimapur.”

The council also appealed to all sections of communities, particularly business communities, to be vigilant at all times and be spontaneous in reporting any forceful coercive money demand, extortion or collection by any unabated individuals or groups to the law enforcing police and agencies for immediate action so as to maintain normal law and order in Dimapur.

“The integrity and sanctity of all Dimapur based civil society organisations is to uphold peace and harmony amongst Naga communities, non-Naga communities, business communities and student communities at all times in Dimapur. If any individuals or groups indulging in anti-social activities to destabilize or create disturbance in the Dimapur peaceful social environment would definitely invite strong negative reactions and condemnations from all these Dimapur based CSOs and communities,” NCD stated.

Meanwhile, NCD has lauded the rapid action of Dimapur police under the command of Kevithuto Sophie IPS, Commissioner Police, Dimapur, for nabbing extortionists indulging in money demands and collections from businessmen and communities in Dimapur.
