Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): With the number of schools and private hostels increasing around Dimapur, SI Jamir, Dimapur MLA, today said such mushrooming is not a healthy sign. He pointed out that educational institutions should be established in the interest of the society and accommodates a desired level of education and functions under proper guidelines. SI Jamir, who also heads the District Development Committee, pointed out that many schools and hostels have cropped up in Dimapur without notice and these institutions are functioning without proper guidelines.
Speaking at the first annual academic results- cum- parents day programme of Cosmopolitan School, Chumukedima, Jamir told teachers, parents, promoters and students of the school to take pride in their achievements over the past one year, adding it is their collective efforts that has made the day possible. He urged parents to lend full cooperation and support to the school in its smooth functioning and said parent-teacher interaction is very essential in that aspect. “A school cannot grow in fullness if there is no interaction between teacher and parents,” he said. He further encouraged the teachers to guide the students to become successful and also promote the school to reach its required destination. Jamir, who earlier referred to mushrooming of schools and hostels, told the elders of Chumukedima present at the function, to check such undesired centers around Chumukedima town. Jamir said he hoped for a bright future of Cosmopolitan Schools and encouraged teachers, parents and promoters to continue giving the best education to students.
