Wokha district will witness a first of its kind, ‘Musicians Converge Wokha’ to mark World Music Day (June 21). The event will take place at Hammock Resort, Wokha and bring together the community of musicians dedicated to living in harmony and promoting responsible music.

Addressing a press conference at Serano Restaurant, Wokha on June 18, Mhademo Ennio, TaFMA Wokha District Partner informed that Musicians Converge Wokha is an initiative of TaFMA Wokha District Partner and ‘that it does not belong to any organizations.’

Ennio stated that Musicians Converge belongs to the musicians themselves, and they have started this with a thought to be productive, helpful and be a responsible society in Wokha.

When discussing the objectives of Musicians Converge Wokha, scheduled to coincide with World Music Day, a team member highlighted its core purpose. He explained that Musicians Converge aims to unite all musicians in Wokha town, emphasising mutual support and collaboration among them. Additionally, he expressed their intent to inclusively identify musicians of all ages and genders. Their primary objective, he noted, is to inspire and mentor younger generations and committed musicians, serving as a guiding beacon within the community.

The team underscored the uniqueness of this year's event in Wokha by pointing out that never before have musicians united sharing a familial bond. They emphasised their goal to highlight and uplift musicians of all types, whether established or emerging artists.

In terms of community impact and fostering cultural exchange, the team expressed their belief in changing the narrative by uniting musicians to effect positive change and promote talent discovery on a global scale. They emphasised that Musicians Converge will provide equal opportunities for performers and bridge gaps between government organisations and societies.

Anticipating an audience primarily composed of 50 to 70 percent youngsters from the town, they expressed optimistic about the event's success. The team informed that musicians themselves are organising the event, managing ticket sales, and pooling resources to ensure its success. They described the initiative as a fundraising endeavour, with proceeds going towards a musicians' fund to support registered participants of Musicians Converge and appealed to the public to support their efforts in making this initiative a success.
