The 2nd edition of the prestigious MG Music Awards 2022 under the aegis of Musicians Guild (MG) took place at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma near Kohima on June 18.

This award featured 12 categories. It has been conceptualized as competition platform for musicians at the north east level, wherein around 250 entries received from the north eastern states.

The judges include; Shalmali- Indian pop sensation, song- writer and composer, Karan- an award winning Indian artist, composer, producer and engineer based in Los Angeles, California and Among Jamir, a Mumbai–based musician.

The award ceremony also witnessed performance by Nourhe, ZT Slingshot, Imliakum Aier & The Electric Cool Kid, Asu J FT, Imsongdi Imsong, Big Dane, Bozio Nienu, Hime, Akhrieze, Mezanuo, Achumla & Albert.

Ruopfhuzhano Whiso assisted the award ceremony as host. MG president Melekhoto Pucho thanked everyone for the success of the event.

Best Pop Solo Artist – KL Pamei

Best Pop Duo/Group Artist – The Gluttones

Best Electronic Artist – Valentina, GFRY, Jintu

Best Song of the Year – Klanjan for “Knight in Shining Armour”

Best Gospel Artist - Achumla Jingrü Sangtam

Most Promising Artist – (1) Joshua Shohe (2) O Daapun

Best Music Video –Lily Sawian feat B4NSHAN & Lucy for Suri
