The Town Hall, Dimapur, came alive on the evening of October 18 as Musik-A successfully staged its most ambitious production yet—Annie, a Broadway-style musical performed by more than 250 talented students aged between 3 and 12 years.
Hosted by Valiant Khieya, the event began with an invocation by Rev. Dr. N. Lipok Jamir, Pastor of Diphupar Ao Baptist Church, followed by a rendition of the National Anthem by young students.
Alobo Naga, Director of Creative Vision at Musik-A, in his welcome note, shared insights into the months of preparation that began in May 2025. He spoke about the decision to stage a Broadway musical, describing it as a creative milestone for the school.
The musical was directed by award-winning director Bendang Walling, assisted by director Bubu Sechü, who brought to life the beloved story of Annie—the tale of a courageous young orphan in 1930s New York City whose hope and optimism lead her from hardship to a loving home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks. The production celebrated themes of resilience, love, and the enduring belief that “the sun will come out tomorrow.”
From the opening scene to the final curtain, the audience was treated to an unforgettable performance filled with heart, humour, and inspiration. Tickets for the show, sold exclusively online through www.ahibi.in, were completely sold out days before the event, with many hopeful attendees turned away due to full capacity.
The flawless production was supported by 30 dedicated teachers from Musik-A, with set design by Limanungdang Ao, lighting by Bikash Duwara, choreography by Rup and Ruby, and sound design by Kibulong Imsong.
Audience members lauded the production, describing it as “an unforgettable night,” and praised the “energy, emotion, and craft” displayed on stage. Another attendee shared, “It was a beautiful experience of enjoying theatre with brilliant performances from the kids. They were exceptionally good. Just like the central idea of the play, the show reminded us that our world still has so much beauty and hope to offer our children.”
One spectator remarked, “The show was spectacular and heartwarming! Seeing how the children were emotional after the final bow showed how deeply this experience touched their hearts.” Another added, “Truly in awe of the immense dedication, creativity, and care the Musik-A team poured into making this production such a memorable and blessed experience. You have created a space where young talents can truly shine.”
