MVC bans movement of logging vehicles

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): The Mhainamtsi Village Council (MVC) has decided to impose an indefinite ban on all timber and logging vehicles entering or exiting through the village with immediate effect. This comes in relation to a hit and run case on December 10 where a logging truck ran over a person at the village. The MVC informed that the victim’s leg has been “amputated” as a result of the incident. A press release from the MVC said that the ban would continue till the culprit in the case is “booked and punished.” It was informed that the MVC held a meeting with the Peren district administration on December 14 and demanded the arrest of the culprit. The MVC has asked the public to bear with the council’s order. “Violators shall face/bear the responsibilities at his/her own risk in case of any untoward incident” it cautioned.
