
DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): The Medziphema Village Council (MVC) and Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK) today accepted an undertaking from ECI Engineering Construction Ltd concerning the issue of providing remedial measures to control dust pollution and black-topping under Medziphema jurisdiction which has been caused due to the ongoing 4-lane construction.
The MVC and MTMK, in a press release, stated that they have accepted the formal undertaking in “good faith but would like to reiterate that failure to adhere with the proposed remedial measures would lead to untoward consequences and for which, ECI would be held solely responsible in future.”
In the undertaking, the construction firm said it would “take responsibility and provide adequate water tankers and water sprinkling in and around Medziphema Town in the national highway to control dust pollution emmited by the ongoing four lane construction.”
“A water tanker will be stationed permanently in Medziphema Town with a supervisor to monitor 24 hours,” the undertaking added. It further informed that preparation for blacktopping would commence by October 2019 and that the construction firm would “take full responsibility in case of negligence and failure on any part.”
