MVCC observes 25th Freshers’ Day

KOHIMA, August 8 (MExN): Mountain View Christian College observed its 25th Freshers’ Day with Director of Higher Education, I. Alempokba as the chief guest on August 6. Alempokba said 25 years is a reasonably long time and the occasion is not just about singing good songs, feasting on good food and wearing fashionable clothes, but it is also a time to reflect on the past performances of the college as well as to draw the best within them.   He encouraged the students to think high, think deep and to be never satisfied with what they have, but to keep striving and also urged them to take a personal decision to achieve greater heights. He also called upon the gathering to keep taking the college forward.   “Aim for the zenith in your performance. Let us work together… we may be small but we are united,” he said. The Director further asserted that in many ways, the smaller the college, the better it is. Substantiating this, he said that in a college with small enrolment, teachers can give personalized attention to students as opposed to a classroom of 100+ students.   Urging to revolutionize their thoughts and attract more students through their good performance and concerted efforts, the Director also called for making the college a trendsetter.   In his short speech, President of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), Zhoku Thuluo, advised the freshers to feel at home at the college and attain knowledge while expressing that this is also a time to come together from different communities as one family. He also told them to not shy away from sharing their grievances to ANCSU.
Principal of Mountain View Christian College, Onen Temjen Ao said the college is striving to give holistic learning and create an environment to nourish the hidden talents. He challenged the students to start now before it is too late in their endeavour to achieve excellence.
