DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): Council of Naga Affairs, Myanmar on Saturday said the Myanmar Government would dispatch two troops of Myanmar Army to provide security for the medical teams expected to arrive from Nagaland.
The Naga Self Administered Zone (SAZ) government is also preparing motorbikes for the medical teams to reach the affected villages on time.

On Friday, Dr Than Tun Aung, Deputy Director General of Union Health Care had reportedly confirmed to the Council over telephone that the disease have been diagnosed as ‘measles.’ However, speculation remains whether the disease is just measles because the affected children had specks of bloods coughing out, which is a strange symptom, Makury, said.

It is learnt that even the Indian Medical Council has been approached for assistance. However, till the filing of this report, the exact status of when the medical team from Nagaland would leave for the affected villages in Myanmar could not be ascertained.
The Nagas from Myanmar through the CNA has appealed the Nagas from India, specifically from Nagaland to come to their rescue with medical aid.
The killer disease was first detected on June 14 last after a ten-year old girl from Thankholama village under Lahe township succumbed to it.
