The authenticity of a letter, about an alleged Welfare Fund, purportedly from the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) to its affiliates remained shrouded in mystery on March 22. The letter, dating to March 20, surfaced on social media on March 22.  It mentioned about “collection of 0.5 %” towards a supposed ENPO Welfare Fund from contractors/firms undertaking contract in the eastern Nagaland region. The eastern Nagaland region comprises of Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire, Longleng, Shamator and Noklak. It informed its affiliates to send the contractors/firms to the ENPO office for obtaining “Exemption Order to resume their works.”  Effort made by The Morung Express to reach out to the ENPO leadership for ascertaining the veracity of the letter, however, was not fruitful.
