DIMAPUR, NOV 19 (MExN): N Naga DAO has expressed shock over the ransacking of the Substitution Therapy Drop-in Centre run by the Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre at the Naga Shopping Arcade last night by an unknown miscreant. “Such act of uncivilized vandalism deserved to be condemned by all”, stated a press note issued by W.C Humtsoe and Abu Mere, Chairman and Secretary, N Naga DAO.
The N Naga DAO however, appreciated the noble gesture of the DIC management for forgiving the would-be culprit so that they will not repeat such kind of foolishness again in future.
N Naga DAO further vehemently condemned the recent attempted rape of a young lady counselor of GFATM attached to SHANSHAM Organization, Mon at Naganimora by an unknown rapist and appealed to the concern local law enforcing authority and the civil society to immediately help in bringing the culprit to justice.
“While with concerted effort the service and care givers NGOs throughout Nagaland are functioning round the clock on a war footing to reverse the rampant drug addiction and HIV/AIDS in the state on a targeted timeframe, it is unfortunate that few anti-social elements are derailing the work momentum of these NGOs”, it stated.
It further appealed to everyone to support and give a helping hand to the NGOs operating at various strategic vulnerable locations for the sustainability of drug demand reduction and HIV/AIDS programs.
