NAAC Peer Team arrives to assess Nagaland University

NAAC Peer Team visit to Nagaland University, Hqrs: Lumami.

Lumami, April 1 (MExN): The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team are on a three-day visit to Nagaland University (NU) headquarters in Lumami from April 1 to 3. The team was led by Dr Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, former Vice Chancellor of Cotton University. 

The team consisted of Dr Subir Biswas, Professor at West Bengal University, Dr Sartik Bagh from BBAU, Lucknow, Dr LB Laxmikanth Rathod, Vice Chancellor of Palamuru University, Dr Sujatha Peela from Brau University, Srikakulam, and Dr Nirankar Srivastava, former Professor at NEHU, arrived at Nagaland University amidst a warm welcome extended by Vice Chancellor Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Registrar Dr Abemo, IQAC Director Prof Dipak Sinha, Pro Vice Chancellors of different campuses, faculties, and officers.

During their visit, the NAAC Peer Team will assess all campuses of Nagaland University, including Lumami, Kohima, Medziphema, and Dimapur. “Their evaluation will encompass all departments, sections, centers, and offices, aiming to provide comprehensive feedback for the enhancement of the university's academic and administrative standards,” stated a press release received here. 

Prof Deepak Sinha, Director of IQAC, emphasised the significance of this evaluation, highlighting its role in fostering continuous improvement within the university. He expressed confidence in the NU’s readiness to undergo rigorous scrutiny and welcomed constructive feedback from the esteemed panel.

In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik conveyed gratitude to the NAAC Peer Team for undertaking this crucial assessment. He expressed optimism that the NU’s commitment to excellence in education and research will be duly recognized, and the evaluation process will yield positive outcomes. He presented the brief details and upcoming projects of Nagaland University.
