The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team from Bangalore today visited Phek Government College for its two day assessment of the college.
NAAC is an organisation that assesses and accredits higher education Institutions in India. It is an autonomous body funded by University Grants Commission of Government of India.
The team was led by the Peer Team chairman Prof. T. Tirupati Rao along with member coordinator S. M. K. Quatri and member Dr. Donatus Kajur S. J.
The peer team interacted with the college’s principal, NAAC steering committee, various departments, alumni, parents of the students, Non-Teaching staff and the Heads of all the Departments.
The Team also inspected the library, artifact collections, skill development promotion, class rooms, science laboratories, Indianeers Skills Academy, I. T. and C, the Mushroom Training and Floriculture Centres.
A cultural programme was hosted by the college at its Amphitheater where the students performed various cultural shows.
During the programme, a duet folk song was presented by Hatulu and Hukulu, followed by a cultural dance, a folk fusion song by the Velocity Band, and a cultural attire show of all the different tribes. Speaking during the programme, Prof. T. Tirupati Rao, expressed his appreciation of the show and thanked all the participants for their wonderful performance.
Before the cultural programme, a lunch on meeting took place with the Governing body/Management of the college and the State Government Representatives.
The state government was represented by the Additional Director, deputy Director, Assistant Director and two OSD, Department of Higher Education of Nagaland and Phek ADC.
