NAAC peer team visits Sazolie College

Jotsoma, November 26 (MExN): A three-member peer team, appointed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, visited Sazolie College, Jotsoma from November 23 to 25.  

A press release informed that the peer team comprised of Prof. Prema Jha, former Vice Chancellor, TM Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar as the Chairperson; Dr. R. Shankar, Head, Department of Sociology, Bharatidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu as Member Coordinator; and Dr. Rajalakshmi Mishra, Retired Principal, Rajendra Autonomous College, Balangir and Gangadhar Meher Autonomous College, Sambalpur, Orissa as the third Member.  

The peer team interacted with the various departments, members of the committees, support services, faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders of the college. Document verification and visits to the facilities of the college like the classrooms, offices, library, canteen, hostels, staff quarters and others were also done.  

On day one, the team had a meeting with representatives of the Department of Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi, Additional Director and Atula B. Aier, State NAAC Coordinator and representatives of Nagaland University, Dr N Das, Head, Department of English, and Dr. SK Srivastava, Department of Sociology and University Nominee to the Governing Body of the College.  

The visit concluded with exit meeting on November 25. In her speech, Prof. Prema Jha, lauded the college for applying for accreditation despite it being a very young institution. She also pointed out the various areas where the college can improve and urged all the stakeholders to continue to give their best and “Rise Ever Higher”, as the motto of the college suggests. The Chairperson later handed over the Peer Team Report to the principal.
