Kohima, May 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Association for Adventure, Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) through the sponsorship of MLA Vikho Yhoshu, 11 participants successfully got trained at Rural Technology Park Hyderabad under National Institute of Rural Development on training for Solar Lantern Preparation and Solar Equipment Management from May 9 to 23. This is the second opportunity where the Association could sent youths from Nagaland to the Institute, previous been on the Soya Products.
The Association has been a registered non- governmental, non- political and non-profit making organization in nature under the theme ‘Inculcate in Youth Values of Nature for Healthy Living’ engaged in imparting awareness programmes on the importance of environmental safeguards have organized trekking to Dzukoü Valley with 31 youths participated and Japfü Peak Climbing competition with 84 competitors from across the state which will be a regular activity to promote eco- tourism in the state.
Through the Association, the youths are exposed to paragliding, parasailing, artificial rock climbing and also have availed opportunities to participated in North East Rock Climbing Competition 2010 at Guwahati, Basic Mountaineering courses at Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA), Adventure Camp at Manali (Eastern Himalaya), Judges Training and Basic Mountaineering Course in Rock Climbing at Tripura under sponsorship of Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) and North East Zone Sports Climbing Council (NEZSCC).
The Association with the enrolment of 123 members invites more individuals and groups to enroll and promote Adventure activities in the State and create awareness in all round Environment and Human Resource Development and contact roko_naame@yahoo.com for detail information.
