DIMAPUR, MARCH 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) has informed all District Boxing Associations to get their boxers registered with the Boxing Federation of India and get their registration number without which they shall not be allowed to participate in any of the National Championships.
The prescribed Online Registration Form is available with Secretary General of the Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association at merenpaul@yahoo.co.in (M. 9436000153) which can be supplied by email.
The District Sports Officers and President of the following districts: Dimapur, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Peren, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto, who have put up their District Team at the 1st Inter District Boxing Championship under the auspices of the 1st Nagaland Olympic Games have been advised to collect the prescribed form and submit the particulars of each boxers as stipulated in the Form and submit to the Secretary General for doing the Online Registration.
The Boxing Federation of India has established a Central Databank to maintain the profile of all the boxers in the country and have began Online Registration of Boxer. Once fully implemented, it will not only keep track of each boxers but also do away with the borrowing of boxer from one state to another which is a contentious issue plaguing the Boxing Federation at present.
All the affiliated State units have been given password to register boxers online. The Federation has given March 31, 2019 as the deadline for Registration of the boxers of the affiliated state units and Boards.
The BFI has also laid down rules that boxers once participated in the Services /All India Police meet/Railways championship shall be duly recognized as registered boxers of Services/AIP/Railway and shall not be eligible to represent or play for their Home State Unit. The Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association henceforth shall not field any boxers from Nagaland Police and Assam Rifles who have already participated in the All India Police/Services Meet as they will be disqualified by the Competition Director.
