NAC Supercross gets off to a flyer

Morung Express News Kohima | June 2   The NAC’s Open Supercross 2016 got off to a flyer at the Local Ground Kohima today. Supported by Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the national level two wheeler competition is being organised by the Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC).   84 contestants from Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, besides Nagaland are competing in four different categories viz., novice (33 contestants), open (21), expert (11) and local (10).   Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force & State Lotteries Khriehu Liezietsu who was present at the inaugural function complimented NAC for taking an important step “to promote and encourage adventure sports” and “for opening doors to all the adventure and motor sports lovers” in spite of the lack of proper infrastructure.   The final event will start from 10am on June 3. Day 1 Results: In the Novice Category, Monjur Ali edged Vianney Nongrum to finish first. Abdul Gaffar Khan came third. In the Expert Category, Suhail Ahmed emerged first while Naylin Chowhin and Eugene Niangti were second and third respectively. In the Local Category, R Lima Kichu claimed first while L Imaakum Kichu and Akhotuo Chuzho followed behind in second and third respectively. In the Open Category, Imdanglemba edged Suhail Ahmed to first place. Akhotuo Chuzho followed in third.
