DIMAPUR, JULY 1 (MExN): The Niuland Area Citizen's Forum (NACF) on Saturday highlighted a number of grievances in the newly formed district, which it said required speedy redress in the interest of general public.
In the first, the NACF requested all government offices/establishment staffs to be stationed along with Head of Departments on all working days for smooth functioning and for prompt service delivery to the general public and district administration.
It urged for immediate setting up of treasury office at the district headquarter. It requested SBI to upgrade its Niuland branch in order to facilitate government employee salaries and pensions.
An appeal was also made to the Minister PHED & Co-operation for early setting up of a government college in Nuiland district headquarter which will benefit hundreds of students’ community passing out each year.
It requested the PWD department to scrutinize the road which is being constructed from 4th mile to Niuland so that it is done as per the DPR.
The NACF, meanwhile, applauded the incumbent DC Niuland for taking herculean task of cancellation/removal of allotted/encroached lands for the betterment of Nuiland district headquarter. It pointed out that due to rampant allocation/encroachment of land meant for the development of government offices/establishments in the past, development works were very much hampered and could not be done smoothly.
