NACG India attends consultation on child sexual abuse

Kohima, July 11 (MExN): Nagaland Alliance for Children & Women Rights (NACWR), President, Senso Yanger Chang and Advisor NK Keny and National Board Members of National Action and Coordination Group (NACG-EVAC India) represented on behalf of NACG India at the state level consultation on ‘It takes Nagaland to end child sexual abuse’ at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on July 10.


A press release issued by NACWR Secretary Information & Publicity, Jenpu Rongmei stated that during the consultation meet, Keny highlighted about NACWR networking with NACG India since 2014 till date with the objective to safe guard children and woman against any form of rights violation.


During the technical session and panel discussion, Keny presented on the topic ‘Role of CSOs in addressing to end violence against children’ where she highlighted issues like crime and violence against children like discrimination, sexual abuse, neglected child care and protection, children living with HIV/AIDS, disabilities, teenage pregnancy, trafficking, lost of child identity, illegal adoption, child labour, lack of proper education system and lack of rehabilitation and support.


She also informed that NACG which is a member of South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children (SAIEVAC) was set up in 2005 by Governments of SAARC Countries. “NACG is a positive opportunity for voluntary organizations, coalition, networks, alliance, groups, institution and forums to work together for child rights and works to promote interaction, networking, joint advocacy, sharing of good practices and experience and promote NGOs, civil societies advocacy efforts with Government policy initiatives on violence against Children,” she stated.


In conclusion, Keny acknowledged Social Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland and Child Line for their selfless service to child protection service and urge all the citizens of Nagaland to “join hand and work to end violence against children without any discrimination and judgmental.”
