The Nagaland AYUSH Doctors Association (NADA) today presented a reminder ultimatum for non-redressal of the representation submitted to the state government. It lamented continued discrimination against the AYUSH doctors in Nagaland.
The representation addressed to the commissioner & secretary and principal director of health and family welfare stated that the Association in a representation dated 5/12/2013, had shared its grievances in detail and the remedies that should be initiated as per the given guidelines and directives, “however, even after the lapse of 2 months nothing has been initiated to meet our grievances.”
“The candid approach of the esteemed authorities in redressing our genuine grievances arising out of the inaction of the state government is demeaning and discriminatory,” stated NADA president, Dr. Kaito Jakhalu and general secretary, Dr. Shasinlo Magh in the representation, a copy which was made available to media persons during a press conference today.
Considering the numerous letters and representations submitted over the years which landed on deaf ears, the Association said, “We give 10 days time for the esteemed authorities to act on our representation, failing which we shall be left with no option but to resort to democratic means to redress our problem.” It asked the esteemed authorities to act on the representation dated 5/12/ 2013 within ten days from February 7.
It may be recalled that the Association had in their representation demanded the government to create posts for AYUSH doctors as per the IPHS in all the district hospitals, CHCs and PHCs, create a separate administrative set up, parity in pay scale with allopathic doctors, the total state health budget inclusive of AYUSH wing as per GoI directives and proper implementation of AYUSH programmes and mainstreaming of AYUSH under NRHM as per the guidelines.
