NADA shocked by ‘Concerned AYUSH Doctors,’ NVCO's statement

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The Nagaland AYUSH Doctors Association (NADA) today said that as the Apex body of the Nagaland AYUSH professionals, it was “shocked and appalled” by the issue brought forth by the Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) and ‘Concerned AYUSH Doctors’ recently on local dailies.

It pertains to the appointment to the post of AYUSH doctors, stated NADA in a press rejoinder issued by its  General Secretary Dr Shasinlo Magh and Vice President, Dr Elvis.

Stating that NADA has been the voice of all AYUSH doctors since its inception, it pointed out that all the “decisions taken and statements made by it are done, based on the Association’s resolutions enacted after thorough deliberation and popular consensus.”

Based on this, the Association has been tirelessly making efforts requesting the Government for creation of regular post of AYUSH Medical Officer in the state service for the aspiring qualified members, and for more than ten years it has been pursuing this ceaselessly for all its members in particular and for the greater good of our community in general, it said.

However, it regretted that when the dreams and aspirations of NADA has become a ‘reality,’ some “wayward members has turned its back and decided to voice their individual opinion to the Government without the knowledge of the Association.”

NADA is quite 'dismayed and enraged' by such dissidence showed by its alleged members by not abiding the Association’s statutes, it added.

In this connection, it informed that the  “AYUSH Doctors of Nagaland has resolved to make statements, be it petitions or grievances, to the Government and general public respectively, only through the Association i.e. NADA.”

A doctor or a handful of doctors doing so does not represent the voice of the AYUSH doctors of Nagaland, it affirmed.

The members of NADA further declared that any statement “made by some of its erring members does not reflect the sentiments of the association in general and any such future declaration and statements made without the knowledge and consent of the association will be deemed as operating against the welfare of the association. “

It also appealed the supporting organisation or association to refrain from publishing representation or articles concerning AYUSH doctors’ welfare in local dailies without NADA’s consultation, maintaining that it is the only “authenticated and registered body for any matter regarding AYUSH doctors.”

“No other organisation has valid authority to decide on behalf of Nagaland AYUSH doctors, give representations and publication as it is beyond the organisation/association sole prerogative,” it added.

The Association further expressed gratitude to the state government for acknowledging the service of AYUSH health care delivery in the state over the years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and creating 11 post of MO AYUSH.
