Naga American Council appoints Dr Thomas A Cellucci as Prime Minister

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): Dr Thomas A Cellucci has been appointed as Prime Minister of the Naga-American Council, a US-based non-profit.

A communiqué from the council’s President, Grace Collins informed that this “key executive-level role includes continuing to raise critical awareness of the Naga-Indo war-- the second oldest conflict in the world.” “Diplomacy is desperately needed to raise awareness and the need for the removal of the forced occupation of the Government of India's army in the territories of the Nagalim people (Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh),” it stated.

The council specifically called for removal of the Armed Forces Powers Act of 1958 through genuine support to the existing peace process.

“As Prime Minister, Dr Cellucci’s outreach will include the American people, US Federal agencies, Churches, private philanthropists, as well as all of the US allies of the democratic free world, NGOs, the United Nations, World Bank and USAID. His role will certainly not include any interference or interruption of the current factional leaders cease fire agreements with the Government of India, the Naga tribal leaders or elected GoI Chief Ministers in Nagalim,” the statement noted.

Cellucci was the first appointed Chief Commercialization Officer in the Executive Branch of the US Federal Government. “He is regarded worldwide as an expert in innovative public private partnerships. Cellucci can lend his vast experience and knowledge in agricultural technologies,” the statement informed.

It further said that Cellucci co-founded a successful agri-tech hub in Kazakhstan and authored two textbooks on agricultural technologies and development. “He also has written many extremely detailed protocols for security, infrastructure development, manufacturing readiness, and municipal water development for the US government,” it informed.

“The Naga-America Council was established as a US-based non-profit 501(3) in 2003 and is only planning to be funded by philanthropists and humanitarian agencies based in the United States,” it added.

The council meanwhile asked for the “collective leadership of all Naga groups, NGOs and civil societies to warmly welcome him into your confidence.”

“By providing him your support, Naga- American Council can continue to fulfill our important mission to help the Nagas live a life of freedom of religion, joy and abundance and repeal any laws that cause religious, physical, mental and/or economic oppression caused by certain laws that currently exist in India,” it stated.
