Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): The Local Arrangement Committee (LAC) on Repatriation of Naga Ancestral Human Remains has called for a coordination meeting to deliberate on the ongoing process of repatriating Naga ancestral human remains currently housed in London.
The meeting will be held on September 29 at 3:00 PM at the Western Sümi Hoho Office in Chekiye Village, Dimapur, and deliberate on the ongoing repatriation process, stated a press release.
Invitations have been extended to tribal leadership, including the President and designated officials of Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD), to join the consultative session along with other constituent civil society representatives.
The LAC has requested all invited organisational leaders to attend the session positively, accompanied by an official from their respective offices, to ensure full representation. “This initiative reflects a vital collective step toward honoring Naga ancestral heritage, cultural identity, and historical dignity through unified community action,” said Tokuho Suhoi Neho, President of Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) and and NT Thamlong Phom, President of Eastern Nagaland People's Union Dimapur (ENPUD), both members of the LAC.
