Naga artist to tease at London’s Eyeplay

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): A print art exhibition, ‘EyePlay,’ will be held in London where three award-winning printmakers, including Temsuyanger Longkumer from Nagaland, will be highlighting the novel art expression.   

The exhibition, EyePlay, will be held from August 30 till September 9, at 48 Hopton Street, London. The opening hours are from 11am till 6pm. 

Three young, multiple award winning artists and curators Bula Chakravarty Agbo, Frank Kiely and Temsuyanger Longkumer will put up their works highlighting the diversity in mediums and styles in the world of print today.  Bula Chakravarty Agbo born in India gave up her place at Wimbledon School of Art to study BA and MA in Fine Arts, at Viswa Bharati University, India. She received an All India Prints Award before returning to the UK. Year 2003 saw her launch the award winning Pepperton Gallery in South London. She has exhibited internationally, and her works are held in collection in UK, India, Japan, America, Australia and Europe.  

Frank Kiely born in Ireland, studied at the Galway Mayo Technical College, National College of Art & Design, Dublin, and the Royal College of Art. He is a member of the Royal Society of Painters and Printmakers, London, and sits on their council. He has exhibited across Europe and the U.S. His works are featured in public and private collections worldwide.

Temsuyanger Longkumer, born in Nagaland, studied ‘double MA’ in Baroda, India, and on a scholarship at the Royal College of Art. He has won numerous awards and scholarships. He has participated in workshops and residencies within the industry in France, Italy, India and the UK. He works across the disciplines of printmaking, time based art and site-specific installation.  The trio will present an innovative approach to the practice of printmaking through some of the most diverse trends, mediums and genres in the world of contemporary print today.   

EyePlay has gained the support of many established artists including Norman Ackroyd, Anita Klein, Trevor Price, Brenda Hartill stated a press note from the organizers.
