DIMAPUR, March 22 (MExN): Naga Blues, the official supporters club of Chelsea Football Club in Nagaland, screened the match between Chelsea and Arsenal today at Quaff Lounge, Dimapur.

The Naga Blues were treated to a match beyond their wildest imaginations after Chelsea’s 6-0 humiliation of Arsenal, with every goal and every attempt on goal from Chelsea being met with thunderous claps and shouts from the fans.

Naga Blues is affiliated to Chelsea India Supporters’ Club (CISC), a bronze tier supporters club affiliated to the English Football Club, London. Prior to the affiliation, three football enthusiast and hardcore Chelsea fans - Moyithung Ezung, Ren Murry, and Asalie Peseyie – formed an unofficial club in Dimapur in 2009. Ever since then, the three have organised regular match screenings in Dimapur and Kohima. The Naga Blues got affiliated to CISC in 2012.

CISC has over 20,000 members with Naga Blues adding to India’s Blue Army by 157 supporters. Officially though, CISC has about 5000 certified members, out of which 53 are members from Naga Blues. CISC currently organizes screenings in 11 cities with Dimapur as one of the venues.

Naga Blues in their bid to add to their existing supporters’ base have welcomed other supporters of Chelsea who wish to join the ‘official supporters club’ of Chelsea in Nagaland. More information on Naga Blues can be found on their Facebook page.
