Kohima | June 5 : Good news!! Another Naga musician has made to the international scene by getting 8 years contract with the leading Christian music publisher Sitara Music India, based in Chennai. Meet Mezhüzolie Yiese, a Christian music artist from Kohima whose contemporary pop album entitled “Life Way” was formally released by Sitara Music India all over India and overseas in April this year.
“I have grown up singing & leading worship. I had a major turnaround in my life while attending a worship concert in Dimapur at a young age and ever since music has become my passion,” said Yiese.
In 2007, Yiese recorded his first worship CD “New Identity” as his expression of love for God. He got an opportunity to record his second music CD ‘LIFE WAY’ which is a mixture of pop & rock.
Yiese said Sitara Music India has listened to his demos and agreed to publish and promote his music all over India and oversees. Yiese said that he was humble and honor to get such offer. He is a lone music artist from North East being promoted by Sitara Music India so far. “All for His glory. I am reminded of the story in the bible ‘the widow has just a little oil’ but when God blessed it, it become enough!” 32 years old Yiese says. Yiese began his journey by joining praise and worship from Union Christian Revival Church, New Market Kohima. Hailing from D. Khel of Kohima village, he performed at “Rest 2011” mega concert organized by Sitara Music India at Chennai in aid of fund raising for orphans. He also performed at the National Hornbill Rock Contest as guest artist. Further, he led the North East India team of praise & worship to South East Asia Convocation in Nepal.
‘Life way” takes up the theme- which is inspired from the scripture “whoever finds me finds…. life” (Proverb 8:3) no matter what it takes we got to take Him. This is an evangelistic song which remind us of the’ Great Commission’ …which is our priority!” he says. On “ ‘Because of you’, Yiese said after going thought chaos of life as everybody does I began to see God’s favor and blessing coming through which help me overcome negative side of life… So this is declaration of what I am today its all because of Him.
‘Face the music’, starts off with some thought from the scripture’ As you sow so shall you reap….’Galatian 6:7- it remind us to be watchful with our words and action. ‘I will be there’ is a number which according to Yiese everyone who’s going through tough time, feeling rejected, deserted should listen. This is a reminder what God has already said that…’He will never leave us nor forsake us’.
Other songs featured in the album included “ “You and me,” “Calling you home, “ Nothing is impossible,” “I’ve got my eyes on you,” “ I will do it” and “Fifteen minutes of fame.” The CD is packed with 10 songs. Yiese said most of the songs he wrote came from his own personal experience “as I walk through this life journey and from the people around me inspired by God.”
“All songs declare His faithfulness, His Ability to save, Grace, reconciliation, love and hope for people who are tired of doing what they are doing because the road seems tough and thinking of giving up- there’s a message don’t give up...no matter what God’s in control. These songs has a message for everyone either you are well in life or going through tough time,” Yiese added.
In Kohima, the CD “Life Way” is now available at Dream Café, Crossword, UBC, and Bible House. In Dimapur, one can access the CD at Crescendo.
