Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The officials of the Naga Club held a meeting with the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, at his official residence on October 30. “This meeting served as an opportunity for the Naga Club to express its sincere appreciation to the Chief Minister for accommodating them despite his demanding schedule of responsibilities,” stated a press release issued by Media Cell, Naga Club, Kohima.
During the engagement, the Naga Club apprised the Chief Minister about “its ambitious initiative, the proposed Naga Club Building Project, to be located in the heart of Kohima, the historic capital of the Naga homeland.”
The Media Cell stated that this project has been conceptualised with a prudent financial plan, aiming to create a state-of-the-art multifaceted facility that will serve as a symbolic property for all Nagas, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The proposed building is designed to accommodate various activities and events that celebrate Naga culture and heritage, providing a dedicated space for future generations, it added.
The discussion also encompassed pressing Naga issues, emphasizing the necessity for conscientious progress both today and in the years to come.
The Chief Minister, acknowledging the significance of this initiative, “assured the Naga Club of his unwavering support and commitment to facilitating the project's timely completion for the welfare and honour of the Naga people,” it stated.
