Dimapur, January 20 (MExN): In a joint statement, signatories of the ‘Naga Concordant’, have affirmed the “spirit of oneness” after a meeting on January 19 and made their resolve to deter from involvement in the coming State election clear. Signatories include Conveners of the High Level Commissions of each of the participating groups—V.S. Atem (NSCN/GPRN), Zhopra Vero (NNC/FGN) and Azheto Chopy on behalf of C. Singson (GRPN/NSCN).
Together, they have affirmed that they render “unreserved support to the FNR and the Naga reconciliation and thereby strengthen the reconciliation process among the Nagas.” They have also urged upon “other Naga national groups to follow the path of reconciliation for a common good”. “We record our appreciation to all the Naga organizations, churches and individuals for your untiring support,” mentioned their statement in a last point.
