Dimapur, October 21 (MExN): As per joint directive of Naga Hoho, NMA & NSF, a Public meeting was held today, 21/10/10 at 11 AM in the office of Naga Council to discuss and prepare for the forthcoming Mass Rally on 26 October, 2010 at Dimapur to be jointly organized by Naga Hoho, NMA & NSF which is to highlight and voice out on the ongoing Naga political issue. The meeting was well attended by members of Naga Council, Naga Hoho representative, Tribal Hoho leaders, Women Hoho leaders, DNSU officials, Sadar GB Union, District GB Union, Joint Forum GBs, leaders of various NGOs and communities such as Marwari, Bengali, Muslim, Kacharis, etc.
As per a press note issued by Naga Council President on behalf of the public, certain decisions were arrived at. This included the decision to have the mass rally in the collective interest of all Nagas /citizens and to be conducted by the joint apex bodies of Naga Hoho, NMA & NSF and program to be prepared by said apex bodies for which suggested time was given as 9 AM and location as City Tower junction. Further all necessary ground works and logistic arrangements, publicity will be provided by Dimapur-based organizations and the local citizens. Likewise, shops shall be requested to close for two hours during the meeting.
In order to execute necessary arrangements, the following organizations were assigned with respective responsibilities: DNSU will look after stage, PA Systems, Chairs, Placards & Banners, Schools/institutions. The Women Hoho & associated Communities of Marwari, Bengali, Muslim and Kachari will arrange Mineral Water (2000 bottles 250ml). GB groups will look after public announcements while Naga Council Dimapur and the Tribal Hohos will take charge of media publicity, own tribe publicity and necessary coordination with district administration and police.
