The Nagaland Darts Association (NDA) is organizing the Naga Darts Championship 2023 from September 9 to 10 at Hotel Millennium, Kohima. The opening ceremony on September 9 will start from 9:30 AM onwards.
25 darters have confirmed their participation in this year championship. They include Yashilemba, Lijan Humtsoe, Kelhousatuo Yiese, Wapang Paul, Vikhor Tepa, Burakum Ao, Aomeren, Kikruneizo Zatsu, Sedevilie Suohu, Kevichuzo Zumvu, Neibi Solo, Rohan Abraham, KL Meren, Killen Jamir, Mangyang Paul, Keza Semou, Joshua Semou, Simon Kelio, Atou Suohu, Oto Angami, Anthony, Viboto H. Sumi, David Angami, Lima Longchar and Vikehelie Suohu.
The NDA was born out of love and passion of the game between two friends at Life Pro Café, Kohima.
Few games and regular shootouts at the café encouraged more players which ensued to the first ever Open Dart tournament in Nagaland on March 31, 2013.
The love for the game grew stronger amongst few friends and well wishers viz: Limatoshi, Thejakielie Zuyie, John Tep, Khriezo Suokhrie and Kevichatha. Nagaland Darts Association was formed in February 2013.
Naga Darts members have participated at PDC India qualifier for World Darts Championship and Indian Darts Championship 2019 under the aegis of Indian Darts Association and Tamil Nadu Darts Association.
During this event, Naga Darts came 3rd in the team event and 5th in men's singles. Both participants were able to reach top 8th and 16th position in the championship.
Currently, two major tournaments are conducted annually in the state—Naga Darts Championship organized by Nagaland Darts Association and Hornbill Darts Masters organized by Fun Tree Crew. Apart from the major tournaments, regular weekend shootouts and monthly tournaments are also conducted by Dynamic School of Darts.
With its motto ‘Aim for perfection’ NDA aims to promote the game of darts and darts loving fraternity in Nagaland and other states.
