Nagaland’s Industries & Commerce Commissioner and Secretary, Lithrongla G. Chishi today told budding entrepreneurs of Nagaland to give up the attitude of submitting “copy-paste type of project reports” while applying for business loans and rather focus on market feasibility for sustainable business venture.

She regretted that absence of adequate marketing strategy has led to failure of many undertakings by entrepreneurs over the years in Nagaland.

Chishi said this while launching the Confederation of India Tribal Entrepreneurs (CITE) Nagaland State chapter under Startup India here at Hotel Japfü. Industries & Commerce Department of Nagaland is the nodal agency of this Startup India programme in Nagaland.

The Commissioner and Secretary meanwhile encouraged Naga youth to focus on innovative ventures which will have a sustainable impact to the growth of the State economy. Chishi encouraged local entrepreneurs to take advantage of the Act East Policy by taking up viable business activities along Indo-Myanmar and ASEAN countries, adding that their intensive market survey to international trade centres like Longwa, Pangsha, etc will go a long way in capitalizing the trade activities

“You have to be realistic,” she said, adding that the entrepreneurs have to be committed to meet the demand of the global market.

Chishi suggested that entrepreneurs take up house-keeping business, weaving and other innovative ventures which would draw the attention of the global market. She added that a time has come for local entrepreneurs to avail the opportunity through Startup India packages not only for their benefit, employment generation but to boost the State economy in particular and the country in general.

Regretting the absence of stability among entrepreneurs, she urged them to carry forward, saying that the government is always there to assist them as long as they are committed.
