Naga groups slapped with RTI

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): A group of “senior citizens” have slapped an RTI Act on the different factions on how the annual collection of 25 percent from all government servants’ salary and 10 to 20 percent of business community/contractors, are utilized. The senior citizens namely, Tfuve Solo Angami, Smsaliang Ao, Ntsubemo Lotha, Nokpha Konyak and Lokhie Sema stated through a release, as to enlighten the people on the developmental activities undertaken other than construction of their private houses and purchase of vehicles. The above mentioned also demanded to know why the factions were demanding/extorting Indian Rupee when the Nagas had their own money called chapellie.

Interestingly, the senior citizens mentioned in the release could not be contacted till the time of filing the report as the phone number provided by the release was not answered despite several attempts. However besides the local medias, copies of the same press release was said to be sent to the presidents of all the factions, presidents of all political parties, i.e. Congress, NPF, BJP, JDU and the presidents of Naga Hoho, NSF, Naga Mothers’ and the ENPO. The senior citizens while stating that Nagas need  and should pray for only one government they further demanded public answers from the factions on their query “before people rise enough is enough”.
