Naga Hoho calls for peaceful resolution of land dispute in Peren-Chümou border

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 9 (MExN): The Naga Hoho today said that “at a time when every Naga is awaiting for a peaceful political solution, there should be no misunderstanding or hatred among the family members; rather strengthen the bond of brotherhood.” The statement came as the Naga Hoho expressed sadness at the “unfortunate incident” that took place between Lamhainamdi village of Peren district and Kiyevi Village of Chümoukedima district on November 7. The Naga Hoho said that any dispute can be mutually resolved through peaceful means.

“Through violence, there is no means to resolve any differences but only leads to further destructions and loss of lives,” it stressed.  “There has been a long pending issue between the two villages which needs to be resolved amicably through Naga traditional way,” the hoho stated, while appealing to both the groups to “let good understanding prevail in a Christian principle so as permanent relationship can be restored as good neighbors.”

It meanwhile called upon the State Government to immediately initiate dialogue with the two confronting parties and resolve in a peaceful way.
