Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): With regard to the news report, ‘After big win in Assam, BJP eyes Nagaland; seeks to take advantage of rift in ruling’, written by Kangkan Acharyya and subsequently published in local dailies, the Naga Hoho has clarified that the opinions expressed by its General Secretary in the report “does not hold water” nor reflect the opinions of Naga Hoho. “This is totally his personal views and in no ways the Naga Hoho endorses such statements,” stated a press release issued by Naga Hoho Vice President, HK Zhimomi and Secretary (Admin), Chitho Nyusou.
The Naga Hoho in its emergency executive meeting held on June 17 at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur expressed surprise over the statements made by the General Secretary of Naga Hoho in the news report that "Whatever Rio does to claim back his empire is to be done before Assembly Election that will be held in 2018" and regarding "Neiphiu Rio toppling TR Zeliang Govt in the near future."
The Naga Hoho while affirming its stand as an apolitical organization affirmed that Naga Hoho belongs to all the Nagas and it does not subscribe to any political parties and shall not compromise on the Naga political issue.
Naga Hoho further requested any freelance writer, reporters, journalists, media houses to seek the approval of the office for any queries/ interviews in sensitive issues confronting the Nagas.
