Speaker of the Naga Hoho Federal Assembly HK Zhimomi today divulged the resolutions passed by the apex tribal organization during its assembly session held on April 4 at Tourist Lodge, Kohima.

“After a thorough deliberation on the reconciliation process, the House unanimously decided to constitute a Committee under the aegis of “Naga Hoho” and further endorsed the Executive Council to nominate/ set up the committee members with the consultation of concerned Tribe Hoho,” Zhimomi said in a release.

The House strongly recommended that “People with integrity and sincerity” should be the basis for a member to form part of the Reconciliation Committee, he said.

“While taking into serious account the “threat and insinuation” imposed upon Naga Hoho and its Federating Tribes, Various Civil Societies and Organizations, the Federal Assembly unequivocally resolved that such threats will be considered as a threat to the collective well being of the Naga society and will be dealt with all appropriateness in the fitness of the nature of intimidations.”

Another resolution adopted was that the Naga Hoho will extend its utmost support to the ongoing ‘Peace talk’ and also strongly supports the cease fire between the GoI and NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K).

Further, the House strongly resolved to urge the Centre “to expedite the peace talk so as to bring about acceptable and honorable solution to the vexed problem.”

The Hoho will also be intensifying its campaign on the peace process “and a befitting course of action will be launched in New Delhi at the earliest.”

Further, the House constituted a search committee to find a “full fledged” President for the Naga Hoho. The committee has been endorsed to nominate the candidate during the next Federal Assembly session for consideration/acceptance.
