Ao Senden disassociates from Naga Hoho
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 23 (MExN): The Ao Senden today informed that it has resolved to disassociate itself from the Naga Hoho until the latter “revokes its consent on the Rongmei recognition issue.” This was resolved by the Ao Senden Federal Council on September 23.
A press note from the Ao Senden Vice President, O Shilu Jamir and General Secretary, S Panger Ao informed that the Ao Senden along with the Sumi Hoho and the Lotha Hoho had put forward an ultimatum to the Naga Hoho to “take back its consent on Rongmei’s recognition as one of the Naga Indigenous Tribes of Nagaland.”
“Since the Naga Hoho chose to undermine the same, the three Hohos on August 24, 2016 resolved in a meeting, to disassociate its membership from Naga Hoho,” it reminded.
Sumi legislators ask Sumi Hoho to reconsider decision
Sumi Legislators of Nagaland State have appealed to the Sumi Hoho to reassess its decision to disassociate itself from the Naga Hoho “in the interest of the Nagas as a whole.” A press note from PWD Minister, Y Vikheho Swu and PHED Minister, Tokheho Yepthomi, on behalf of the Sumi legislators asked the Sumi Hoho to keep in mind “the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue where all the Nagas are stakeholders and equally responsible for the smooth and positive outcome of the political peace process and where any misunderstanding amongst the Naga family may jeopardize the political peace process.” They suggested that “any issue within the Naga Family should be resolved through discussion and consultations and not through other means.”
NSCN (IM) Kyong region appeals to Lotha Hoho
The NSCN (IM) Kyong Region has appealed to the Lotha Hoho to reconsider its decision to disassociate from the Naga Hoho, in the larger interest of the Nagas. A press note from the Caretaker/CAO of the NSCN (IM) Kyong Region informed that it had taken “serious note of the disassociation of the Lotha Hoho from the Naga Hoho,” and the Kyong Region officials of the NSCN/GPRN held a meeting on September 22 at Wokha to “deliberate and retrospect upon the matter.” “Considering the past positive contributions of the Lotha Hoho in the formation of the Naga Hoho as a pioneering member and for the peaceful co-existence of the Lothas along with other Naga brothers and sisters,” the Kyong region workers of the NSCN/GPRN after a detailed discussion unanimously resolved to sincerely appeal to the Lotha Hoho to reconsider its decision to disassociate itself from the Naga Hoho.
