DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Presidential Council meeting of the Naga Hoho along with the Empowered Committee on Goodwill Mission was held today at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.
A press note from the General Secretary of Naga Hoho informed that among other issues, the meeting deliberated on the notification served by Ao Senden to Naga Hoho President, P Chuba Ozukum to step down from his post.
In this connection, the Naga Hoho resolved that “it shall always safeguard the sanctity of Naga Hoho as enshrined in the constitution and further collectively endorsed that P Chuba Ozukum’s departure from Naga Hoho does not arise at this juncture as it will prove to be detrimental to the interest of the Nagas in general.”
The Naga Hoho pointed out that Ozukum had sought the advice and guidance from the Presidential Council as to whether he should resign as per the directive of the Ao Senden Federal Assembly.
“On the technical front, the members reiterated the process of the election/nomination/selection of the President or other Office Bearers of Naga Hoho which is governed by well established rules and procedures of the Naga Hoho. Accordingly, the candidates for any post are being elected to serve the Naga people as a whole,” it said. Keeping in view the above position, the Naga Hoho Presidential Council has resolved not to allow the incumbent President of the Naga Hoho to relinquish his position as President of Naga Hoho.
